SPOILERS The Witcher, Netflix Pilot: The Butcher of Blavikin #TheWitcher

You will get the plot spoilers for the pilot of the Netflix fantasy series The Witcher. The pilot (season 1, episode 1) is about how Geralt of Rivia got the title “The Butcher of Blaviken”.

It is based on the short story “The Lesser Evil” by Andrzej Sapkowski in his short story collection THE LAST WISH. An adaptation of this story is in the Witcher 1 expansion quest by CD Projekt Red “The Price of Neutrality”. The story features the Witcher played by Henry Cavill killing a giant crockidile/spider (a kikimora). He meets a damsel killing wizard Stregobor and the outlaw Princess Renfri. Both want the Witcher to kill the other. Renfri’s backstory is a twisted version of the Snow White fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm and popularized by Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. There is no fairy tale ending in this action packed morality play. Was Renfri under the Curse of the Black Sun? Was she the victim of an evil stepmother in a political coup? What is the Tridam Ultimatum and why can’t Geralt remain neutral?

Unlocking the secrets in interviews, the cast list, interviews and the 2019 Comic-Con San Diego Teaser we have a good idea that at least five short stories will be featured. They are from the short story collections
